The Actuator/Sensor Interface (AS-Interface) is a replacement for conventional wiring systems, which typically require two wires for power supply and an additional wire for the signal or control line. In the case of AS-Interface, however, one two-wire flat cable is sufficient for transmitting data and power for all stations (up to 62 per line possible).

AS-Interface ensures reliable data transmission secure from EMC effects. It minimises the time and expense of installation, offers a diagnostic function, detects short circuits and makes retrofitting especially easy anywhere.
